CURRICULUM
Open Court reading is a research-based language arts program that is designed to teach
students at all levels.  After whole group instruction, students break up into smaller
"workshops" to develop individual skills in reading, vocabulary, writing, and spelling.

ABeka math is a challenging curriculum that prepares students to excel in math
computation as well as in reasoning and problem-solving.  A newly revised
ABeka
science
program is used in grades 3 and above.  Students learn through research and
investigation while enjoying beautifully illustrated textbooks.

In
A Reason For Science (grades K-2) and A Beka Social Studies, students explore the
world around them with lots of time for creating, building, investigating, experimenting,
and field trips.

The
ACSI Bible Curriculum teaches children the foundation of God's Word with
application to their everyday lives.

In second grade, CVCS students take the Otis-Lenon school ability test followed by the
Stanford 10 Achievement test in grades 3 and above.

Students in grades 3 and above are eligible for the "Honor Roll" by maintaining excellent
conduct and all As and Bs.
